RETURNING STUDENTS - Spring 2024 Selection Process

All full-time undergraduate students are required to reside in Wittenberg housing while enrolled and should participate in Housing Selection each spring for the upcoming academic year.

The Housing Selection Process will be completed in our Housing Portal

Please read through the information below to better understand the range of options, timeline, and how to navigate the housing system. We understand this can be an exciting yet unfamiliar process, so we try to address most concerns below. If you have any questions at any point, email housing@3588612.com

Important Notices:

  • Myers Hall will be offline.
  • Themed Living Communities (TLCs):
    • Ubuntu (New Hall) - connected to the McClain Center for Diversity, the Ubuntu wing in New Hall is an intentional place of housing for students interested in celebrating multicultural diversity and inclusion, specifically Black culture.
    • Honors (Woodlawn Hall) - connected to the Matthies Honors House & Program, the Woodlawn Hall is for students who have at least a 3.5 GPA and want to live in an environment conducive to academic focus and success. 
    • Tiger Pride (Polis House) - connected to the McClain Center for Diversity, the Tiger Pride community is an intentional space welcoming to all gender identities and to foster a safe and respectful community regardless of sex, gender, gender identity or sexual orientation. The Tiger Pride community features all gender restrooms and floors.
  • Singles will continue to be available on a limited basis even without an ADA-related accommodation. There will be an additional cost for Single Rooms and Super Single Rooms. Tuition & Fee Schedule to be posted by Business Office soon. For exact prices, refer back to the Housing Selection page.

Students with specific housing requests related to documented needs, should work with Accessibility Services to request any necessary accommodations. Once approved, the accommodation needed will be communicated to Residence Life and we will work to make reasonable accommodation given timing and existing assignments.

RatesRoom and Board (Meals) Rates
AmenitiesAmenities vary by location, especially in the Witten’Burbs traditional houses and apartments. If you have questions about a specific location, please contact Residence Life.
Floor PlansResidence Hall Floors Plans or floor plans for 'Burbs are available by emailing housing@3588612.com only. Floor plans are not to scale and are only intended to help gauge general layout. Anything requiring firm measurements should wait until move-in so that students can take their own measurements.
UtilitiesAll Witten'Burbs homes include full utilities. A trash can and recycling bin are provided for each unit. Residents are responsible for placing cans at curb for weekly pick up on Monday mornings.
TechnologyStudents in Witten'Burbs homes are responsible for cable and internet installation and payment. Dish / satellite installation is not permitted without previous approval. Sprecher and Keller apartments have campus internet access.
LaundryAll Residence Halls have coin-free laundry machines. Not all 'Burbs houses have a washer and dryer hook up. Please see the available property list for more information. Sprecher and Keller apartments each have a common laundry room for residents (laundry rooms are key-access and machines are coin-free).
AppliancesAll Witten'Burbs houses include a fridge/freezer unit and oven/range unit. Installation of microwaves and dishwashers are uncommon and vary by property. The University does not provide laundry appliances although they are available for rental through our approved vendor.
FurnishingsA Residence Halls & Sprecher/Keller Apartments are furnished with a bed, twin XL mattress, desk, chair, and dresser/wardrobes. Sprecher/Keller also features living room and kitchen furniture. 'Burb's Houses are responsible for providing bedroom and common space furnishings.
EligibilityWitten'Burbs Properties and Sprecher/Keller Apartments are limited to students who have 60 credit hours or more by the end of the Spring 2023 term.

Renewal

Properties are limited to renewal for three consecutive years (i.e. eligible to be renewed twice after initial selection; held of out general housing lottery for three years). At that point, the property is considered ineligible for renewal and returns to the general lottery pool for selection. Properties may also be removed or added to the available list of properties depending upon facility or University needs.

If you missed Housing Selection, please contact housing@3588612.com right away. Returning students who have no housing assignment at the end of Housing Selection will be placed in housing by Residence Life.
